Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I am new to collecting. Is contemporary African art really a safe investment?
Yes, contemporary African art is one of the most dynamic asset classes in the cultural sector today. However, an investment is only truly valuable if it is liquid. Until now, local collectors lacked a straightforward way to resell artwork without exorbitant international freight fees. AfriValuable creates a trusted domestic ecosystem allowing you to buy and sell confidently as your tastes evolve.
Are the artworks I upload kept private?
Absolutely. We understand that discretion is vital when managing your personal collection. Only the artist's name, general description, size, date, and asking price are publicly visible. Images, ownership identity, and sensitive documentation remain private unless you explicitly authorize their release to a vetted buyer.
Can I upload a piece that I do not legally own?
To maintain trust, we strongly prefer owners list their own works. However, advisors, consultants, and family members may submit artwork on behalf of an owner with written authorization. Simply select the appropriate option during submission.
How does AfriValuable make buying and selling safe?
AfriValuable acts as the trusted intermediary for every transaction. Once a sale is agreed, we purchase the work directly from the seller and immediately transfer ownership to the buyer. This structure ensures secure payments, legally sound contracts, and professionally managed shipping.
